Islanders invited to help shape Jersey football by joining JFA Committees

The Jersey Football Association is looking for enthusiastic and committed islanders to join a series of new committees.

The Jersey Football Association is looking for enthusiastic and committed islanders to join a series of new committees and help shape the future direction of football in the island from January 2020.

The new structure of JFA governance follows the merger earlier this year between the local league system (the Jersey Football Combination) and the JFA.

Since formalising the merger in July 2019, work has been ongoing to identify talented volunteers to form new committees which will assist the JFA in managing the future demands of Jersey football. The JFA organigram details seven main committees and four sub-committees who will feedback to the board of directors via the Chair’s committee and CEO.

JFA Committee Structure

The seven committees cover a diverse range of topics, which are designed to provide excellent governance and sustainability for Jersey football. Sub-committees for Club Welfare Officers, Junior, Female and Small-sided football have also been created to focus on specific areas of the game.

“We want to make sure our committees and sub-committees are made up of people from all backgrounds with a variety of areas of expertise,” said JFA CEO Jean-Luc Desbois.

“This is an opportunity for people who are passionate about the game to come on board and actually make a difference to the way football is run in the island.

“The committees will be making key decisions and working with JFA staff to ensure we head down the right paths in all aspects of our work.”

If your passion is football and you want to make a positive impact to the lives of many, put yourself forward by emailing info@jerseyfa.com before 15th January 2020, detailing why you would be suitable.

All the committees will be operational by 31st January 2020. The JFA incorporates equality into its organisation and work-place, making every effort to eliminate discrimination, create equal opportunities and develop good working relationships between different people.
