Jersey FA Community Programme, CoE, PDC and local league all on hold
Statement Released 8.1.2021
The Government of Jersey yesterday confirmed that its restrictions on outdoors gathering sizes will remain in place for now. This means islanders are unable to gather outside in groups of more than ten.
As a result, the Jersey Football Association will be unable to operate a number of its programmes until further notice. This includes the following Community Programme activities:
- In curricular PE lessons delivered by the JFA in primary schools
- Collas Crill After School Skills Sessions
- Weetabix Wildcats Centres
- FA Snickers Just Play Walking Football sessions
Parents/guardians who have already paid for their child’s place on the After School Skills Sessions for the Spring Term will be contacted by a member of the Community Programme team in the next few days.
In addition, the Link Asset Services Centre of Excellence and Player Development Centre training sessions are also paused until further notice.
The Jersey FA Combination’s league and cup matches, which all clearly require more than ten people to be present, are also currently unable to go ahead. Matches will be postponed week-by-week on a rolling basis until the Government of Jersey guidelines are eased and the Competitions Committee can fix a date for resumption.
