Exciting staffing changes at Jersey FA

We can confirm a series of staffing changes to help the development of grassroots football in Jersey.

The Jersey Football Association is pleased to announce a series of staffing changes designed to strengthen our operations and continue our mission to support football development across the island.

After five years of dedicated service as Football Services Manager, Jonathan Le Fondre departed the Association on Friday and takes up his new role at Jersey Sport. Jonathan has been instrumental in driving the JFA forward during his tenure, professionalising the club support services and league management, and we thank him for his invaluable contributions.

Stepping into this role is Suzy Winstanley, who has been promoted from her position as Fixtures Secretary and Office Manager. In her new capacity, Suzy will not only serve as Football Services Manager but also chair the Association’s Competitions Committee. Her expertise, leadership and existing links with clubs will be crucial as we look to build on recent successes.

Jamie Le Fondre (pictured below), our Football Services Assistant, will take on the role of Fixtures Secretary alongside his existing responsibilities relating to discipline administration. Jamie's strong organisational skills and commitment make him an excellent fit for this expanded position.

We are also delighted to welcome Elizabeth Fenlon to the team as Head of Operations and Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO). Elizabeth will oversee the day-to-day business operations, while ensuring safeguarding remains a top priority. A former police constable, she replaces Laura MacDonald, who is stepping down from her role as DSO. We extend our gratitude to Laura for her service in this important area.

Meanwhile, Chris Duncan (pictured below) has been appointed as the Jersey FA’s Football Development Manager. Chris is a qualified referee and formerly coached Jersey Wanderers Women before spending the past six months travelling.

Chris Duncan joins us as Football Development Manager

Chris will be supported by a Football Development Officer (Clubs, Coaches and Facilities), a newly-created position which reflects our desire to work more closely with affiliated clubs, enhancing the experience for players, coaches, and volunteers. Applications for this role closed on Friday, 24 January. The successful applicant will work with the Football Development Manager to provide more coaching qualification and development opportunities. They will also be central to the Jersey FA’s push to see two new 3G pitches in the island by 2028, as part of our exciting and ambitious Business Strategy.

Jersey FA Chief Executive Officer, Tim Pryor, said: “These appointments mark an exciting new chapter for the Jersey Football Association, as we continue to grow and evolve in service of Jersey’s footballing community. This has clearly been a massive period of change for the Jersey FA, but we’ve got the right people in the right roles to ensure we deliver on the new 2024-28 strategy, and focus our efforts to make the most impact on the sport in Jersey.”
