Jersey FA can confirm that David Kennedy will step down as CEO following a tenure of four years. David has taken the decision to move on from his role at the JFA to take over as CEO of Jersey Sport.

Announcing David's decision, Jimmy Kelly, Chair of Jersey FA Board of Directors said: “David’s contribution to the Jersey Football Association has been outstanding. During his time in the role, David has overseen significant development at the Association, delivering notable achievements in governance, stakeholder engagement, inclusion, and safeguarding. David leaves our organisation in significantly better shape than he found it. Everyone at the JFA wishes David all the very best in his new role with Jersey Sport.”

Kennedy has been at the helm of the JFA since the first week of lockdown in 2020 and has since steered the association to a successful period both on and off the pitch. This has included achieving national awards for sports governance and safeguarding standards, as well as assisting the coaching team that won the Island Games in Guernsey.

David Kennedy said, “I have loved every minute of working for the JFA and the decision to leave has not been an easy one. However, I can depart knowing that my successor will inherit an organisation with strong foundations and will have the support of an excellent Board of Directors and staff”.

The JFA will start the recruitment for a new CEO with immediate effect.
